Become an Advertising Sales Manager at
St. Louis Woman Magazine

Overview:
The Advertising Sales Manager is responsible for the development, management and results of all sales activities, from lead generation through close, including own group of accounts as well as those of other sales executives. Responsibilities include working closely with Director of Sales and local Associate Publisher to create added-value opportunities for clients and achieve the company revenue goals, including weekly sales reporting. This position requires establishing long-lasting business relationships with current and prospective clients. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record with local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.

Required skills:

  • Ability to manage the advertising sales cycle from start to finish.
  • Working from your home, must be self-motivated with a diligent and dependable work ethic.
  • Established ongoing client relationships in the advertising industry, including agencies and direct advertisers.
  • Adept at identifying target accounts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Prepare effective and prompt proposals and RFP responses.
  • Persistent at follow-up.
  • Strong closer.
  • Provide optimum service to clients.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Preparing periodic sales reports.
  • Documented history of meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Computer literate in database and word processing programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience.

Advertising Sales Executive

St. Louis Woman Magazine, a publication of Weiss Communications, is expanding its sales team to include savvy, energetic men and women who want a fast-paced rewarding career in advertising. Sales experience is required and a media sales background is a plus.

Along with Indianapolis Woman and St. Louis Woman Magazines you will sell custom publishing projects, Web ads, events and sponsorship opportunities.

Our sales executives are responsible for maintaining and growing an account base of current advertisers while prospecting and developing new business by building relationships with key decision makers. Excellent communication skills are essential and this position demands creative, independent thinking - always with a focus on deadlines! Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook is strongly recommended.

Weiss sales executives are given monthly revenue goals to meet and exceed and are compensated accordingly.
